Liberty Landing Redevelopment

The Village of New Richmond in Clermont County is set to undergo a remarkable transformation through the Liberty Landing Redevelopment project. This ambitious endeavor, which has long been a dream for the community, has received a significant boost with an investment of $13,472,404.

Revitalizing the Village

Back in 2021, New Richmond officials were hopeful for a state grant of over $800,000 to help the village transition from its identity as a recovering coal plant community into a vibrant waterfront destination. Fast forward to today, and the funding now stands at more than 14 times that amount, making the dream a reality.

The Vision for Liberty Landing Park

The redevelopment will bring to life several exciting features, including:

  • A River Marina
  • A Waterfront Trail
  • An Amphitheater
  • A Boat Ramp
  • A Natural Landscape Terrace
  • Connections to the US-52 Bike Trail

These plans echo the charm of Cincinnati’s Smale Park but on a smaller scale, aiming to attract boaters, bikers, and history enthusiasts to the area.

A New Era for New Richmond

As the largest waterfront municipality in Clermont County, New Richmond has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1814. Once a bustling hub for steamboat building along the Ohio River, just 20 miles east of Cincinnati, the village is now poised to enter a new era with the Liberty Landing Redevelopment.

Looking Forward

With these extensive plans in place, the future looks bright for New Richmond. The Liberty Landing Redevelopment promises to rejuvenate the village, offering exciting new amenities and solidifying its place as a top waterfront destination in the region.
